About the Role
We're working with a leading pensions solutions business to hire a Product Owner - a pivotal role sitting at the heart of their Defined Contribution product evolution.
Reporting into the Product Manager, you'll own the end-to-end business analysis of work items from the product backlog, driving tangible improvements to product capability and the customer experience that underpins it. This is a role for someone who thrives with autonomy, enjoys working across complex business functions, and wants to make a genuine impact in a purpose-driven industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Requirements engineering: Elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements
- Data analysis: Evaluating business and systems data to support decision-making, problem identification, and benefits realisation
- Process improvement: Mapping 'as-is' and 'to-be' processes and driving meaningful process re-design
- Stakeholder management: Acting as the key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, aligning on goals and managing expectations
- Solution development: Supporting cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet documented business needs
- Documentation: Creating release notes, end-user training materials, and business readiness documentation
- Product management: Supporting backlog prioritisation alongside the Product Manager and facilitating the product management framework
- Defect resolution: Assisting with root cause analysis of critical system defects
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- 3 years experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work at pace across complex functions
- Proven ability to challenge existing ways of working, propose improvements, and achieve stakeholder buy-in
- Hands-on experience with agile development methodologies
- Experience working with third-party suppliers
Desirable:
- Experience developing B2C websites or mobile applications (including wireframing tools)
- Exposure to SSO, system integration, or API payload analysis
- Experience with data modelling and SQL database querying
- Background in the pensions or financial services industry
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO)
- BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (part or whole) or Lean Six Sigma qualification
Why Apply
- A genuinely purpose-driven organisation helping people secure their retirement outcomes
- High-autonomy role with real ownership over meaningful product work
- Collaborative, cross-functional environment with scope to grow
- Hybrid working from Leeds
